No One Wants To Be An Afterthought

Everyone loves encouragement (well... 98% of us!)

“A word of encouragement during a failure is worth more than an hour of praise after success.”

No one wants to be an afterthought. When you’ve gone “above and beyond” or simply done good work and no one notices… it can get discouraging. So we love to RECEIVE encouragement, but how often do we give it???

Our research comes from Kouzes and Posner’s, “A Leader’s Legacy” that we mentioned last week. Everyone loves encouragement (well… 98% of us do!).

It appears that 80% of us desire good relationships and encouragement more than we would a big raise (source).

It only makes sense, people work harder when they are happier, and they are happier when they are encouraged.

This week’s FREE download is 10 Ways to Encourage Others (at work and home). Be sure to check out last week’s “Leadership Without Sacrifice? That’s Not A Thing” also based The Leader’s Legacy by Kouzes and Posner.
