It’s the gift-giving time of year. I LOVE IT.
If you’ve ever read Gary Chapman’s work on The 5 Love Languages, you know that people receive love in different ways. If you are married or in a relationship, you’d be smart to figure out how your partner best receives love. Me? It’s giving and receiving gifts! Did I tell you how much I love celebrating Jesus’ birthday?!
Here are three gifts you can give that will revolutionize your Christmas, possibly making it the best Christmastime ever.
1. Give Thanks. In a study to determine what makes people happiest, the researches did not find the definitive answer. But they discovered something possibly more important. They discovered that happy people have one thing in common: they are THANKFUL! Give yourself a gift. Everyday this week choose several things that you will be thankful for. Write them down or say them out loud. See what happens to your week!
2. Give Presents. Don’t have much money? So What. If you wrote a note to someone starting out this way: “Here are the top five things l love (like) about you, and why I can’t imagine life without you . . .” you can bet that would be one of their favorite presents this year—maybe ever. Give the gift of love (and chocolate).

3. Give Presence. Give more time to people than to electronic devices. When you are talking with someone, maintain eye contact even when someone “more important” walks in the room. If you become a better listener, you’ll become a better, more loved person. Michael Hyatt, the best blogger on the Internet, shows how here.
THE BOTTOM LINE: You can make the next two weeks of the year your best of the year. Purpose in your heart to give three gifts: Thanks, Presents, and Presence.
